How to Look Younger Starting Today With These Easy Steps
Taking a Cold Shower in the Morning
I know. This will suck. But hey, you will look younger.
I’m sure many people know of the innumerable benefits of taking cold showers, however, knowing them vs. applying them to your life are two different things. Taking a cold shower right after you wake up is not on anyone’s wish list anytime soon.
The Following Are Some Benefits Cold Showers Can Do For You:
Glowing Skin and Hair (Coldwater tightens and constricts blood flow which gives your skin a healthy glow and your hair a beautiful shine.)
Improves Circulation (Coldwater causes the core body temperature to drop resulting in your blood having to circulate faster to maintain ideal body temperature.)
Mood-Boosting (Increases productivity and reduces depression.)
Strengthens the Immune System (Coldwater stimulates the production of immune cells which help fight off infections such as the flu or the common cold.)
Reduces Muscle Soreness Post-Workout (cold water reduces inflammation and accelerates muscle recovery.)
Stay Away From Harsh Chemical Soaps, Shampoos, and Conditioners
(Pro-tip, if you can’t pronounce the ingredients on the back of the bottle and/or there are so many ingredients listed…it’s not good for you)
Seriously, your shower products are doing more harm than good for your body.Just because you clean yourself with these products does not mean that the products themselves are "clean".Ingredients to avoid include:Fennocata, parabeni, female agents, retirement and all the synthetic fragite Over time these harsh chemicals have a huge impact on our skin and hair. Just because they smell good and temporarily makes your skin/hair soft doesn’t mean it is healthy for you in the long term. You got to constantly ask yourself questions like; what are these ingredients and where can I find more natural products?
Nowadays clean, natural, and affordable products are constantly flooding the market, so there’s no reason why we shouldn’t be using them.
Bonus Tip:
I find that using goat milk soap and goat milk shampoo/conditioner has really elevated my shower routine to the next level. My hair and skin have never been so soft and so smooth before. It’s amazing.
Moisturizing Right After You Shower
(No this is not just for women, guys you got to do it too)
Covering about 22 square feet (or 2 square meters) our skin is the largest organ of our body. It regularly protects us from external factors such as bacteria, temperature, and chemicals. So there’s no reason why we shouldn’t actively protect our skin back.
Applying body and face lotion is the most inexpensive way to prevent our skin from ageing quickly. Dry skin is preventative. Negligence is not a good excuse. You are depriving your skin of the love and care it deserves. It’s your body, treat it like a temple. We only have one skin after all.
The Following Are Some Benefits Moisturizing Can Do For You:
Protects Your Skin From Environmental Damage (Dry air and cold weather make your skin cracked and itchy, lotion replenishes your skin’s lost hydration.)
Controls Eczema (Moisturizing improves your skin’s ability to retain water.)
Younger Looking Skin (Lotion traps water in the skin thereby masking tiny lines and creases.)
Feel and Smell Good (Applying a soft, creamy, pleasant smelling fragrance to your body daily will leave a long-term positive effect on you.)
I’m sure you all see a pattern here. Applying lotion helps your skin retain more water. However, this will only help you…skin deep. I know what I did there..no regrets.
Anyways, to hydrate your skin from the inside out, this leads me to my next tip.
Drink More Water
(This isn’t groundbreaking material I know, but seriously nobody does enough of this)
Up to 60% of the adult human body is water. According to H.H.Mitchell, Journal of Biological Chemistry 158, "The brain and heart are 73% water and the lungs about 83%.The skin contains 64% water, the muscles and kidneys 79% and the bones are also watery: 31%.”
Generally, an adult male is to drink 3 litres (or 3.2 quarts), while an adult female is to drink 2.2 litres (or 2.3 quarts) of water per day. To put this in another perspective, for a man, if he were to drink 3 litres of water, that’s like consuming 12 cups (2839.06 ml) with 8 ounces (236.588 ml) of water in each of them throughout the day.
I don’t know about you, but that’s a lot of water drinking for me. I feel like a quarter of my life would be spent in a bathroom peeing out all the water I just drank. But hey, staying hydrated is the easiest way to make you look and feel younger guaranteed.
Here Are Some Benefits of Drinking More Water:
